		Major Requirements:
 Total major units: 15  This program requires an application to declare the major, approved by the History/Literature Committee. Two Units of 200-level Humanities:
 Four Units in History (excluding 411, 470)
 ⇒A minimum of two units must be taken at Reed  ⇒Courses cross-listed with history may apply to this requirement Two Units of Literature in a Language Other than English at the 300 level or higher (excluding 470)
 Students should inquire with the History/Literature Committee about appropriate substitutions, including study abroad. For guidance regarding this requirement, see the History/Literature  Committee page. Four Additional Units in Any Literature (Excluding ENG 301, 302, or any 470)
 ⇒A minimum of two units must be taken at Reed.  ⇒Any combination from the following courses:   - English (ENG) courses (excluding 301, 470)
  - Literature (LIT) courses at the 300 level or higher (excluding 470). LIT courses cross-listed with any course used to meet the above requirement will not apply.
  - Comparative Literature (CMPL) courses (excluding 470)
  - Film and Media Studies (FMST) courses at the 300 level or higher (excluding 470)
