One unit of Introductory Economics
One unit of Microeconomics
One unit of Macroeconomics
Four Additional Units in Economics
A minimum of three from ECON 315-469 (excluding 402)

- Junior qualifying examination
Students should take the junior qualifying examination the semester before starting their thesis. Recommended, but Not Required:
- Although there is no formal mathematics requirement, MATH 111 or equivalent background in differential calculus is a prerequisite for ECON 313 .
- Students intending to do graduate work in economics should take ECON 312 and as much mathematics as possible. MATH 111 , MATH 112 , STAT 141 , MATH 201 , MATH 202 , and MATH 322 are especially useful. Such students may wish to consider the major with concentration in quantitative economics.
