CHEM 250 - Chemical Modelling and Scientific Communication

This elective focuses on bridging the gap between theory and experimental research by teaching students how to use mathematical tools to model complex chemical and biochemical systems. Students will review foundational mathematical concepts while developing new competencies in analysis and mathematical modeling of real-world molecular problems. Students will present and communicate quantitative chemical information through written and oral formats. This course’s conference section overlaps with the department seminar; as part of this class, students will attend chemistry seminars and engage in critical discussions about how analytical and quantitative methods are applied in current research, fostering a deeper appreciation of their role in chemical and biochemical research.
