This minor may not be paired with the Spanish major. This minor may be paired with the American Studies major, provided the field of concentration required for the major is not the same as the minor. This minor may be paired with the Biology (Alternate Program) major, provided 3 or more units of the nonscience field of concentration do not overlap.

Students must complete all of the following requirements in addition to the requirements for a bachelor of arts major to graduate with this minor. Some courses may apply toward multiple requirements.

Total minor units: 4-7, depending on language proficiency

If Starting with First-year Spanish:

SPAN 111 - Beginning Spanish I
SPAN 112 - Beginning Spanish II
SPAN 211 - Intermediate Spanish I
SPAN 212 - Intermediate Spanish II
SPAN 321 - Theory and Practice of Hispanic Literature
Two additional units of Spanish literature not in translation at the 300 level or higher (excluding 470)
⇒A minimum of one must be taken at Reed

If Starting with Second-Year Spanish:

SPAN 211 - Intermediate Spanish I
SPAN 212 - Intermediate Spanish II
SPAN 321 - Theory and Practice of Hispanic Literature
Two additional units of Spanish literature not in translation at the 300 level or higher (excluding 470)

If Starting Beyond Second-year Spanish Proficiency:
