Major Requirements:
Total major units: 15-20 This program requires an application to declare the major, approved by the ICPS IA/PP committee. The application should include at least one and ideally more than one recomended Comparative Analysis course (listed at bottom). Six to Seven Units of International Affairs:

Proficiency in a Non-English Language, Demonstrated by One of the Following:
- Successful completion of Reed language courses:
⇒ Two units at a second-year level, OR ⇒ One unit at a higher level; - Committee approval of language courses taken elsewhere, which may include:
⇒ Successful completion of language courses taken in secondary (high) school or at another college/university, AND/OR ⇒ Successful completion of a language placement examination at Reed; - Committee approval following an assessment of language proficiency in a non-English language, including heritage languages, commensurate with at least two years of college-level coursework.
