English with a Concentration in Global Literature

Eight Units of Literature:

Three units of 200-level English courses

  • A minimum of one unit of poetry (ENG 211, ENG 212, ENG 213)

A minimum of five units of 300- or 400-level English courses (excluding 470)

  • A maximum of one from the following:
    • Creative writing
    • Literature in translation
  • Students should inquire with the English department about appropriate substitutions, including study abroad

A minimum of two units in literature prior to 1900

  • A minimum of one in literature prior to 1700
