Recommended, but Not Required:

  • Although there is no formal mathematics requirement, MATH 111 or equivalent background in differential calculus is a prerequisite for ECON 313.
  • Students intending to do graduate work in economics should take ECON 312 and as much mathematics as possible. MATH 111, MATH 112, MATH 141, MATH 201, MATH 202, and MATH 322 are especially useful. Such students may wish to consider the major with concentration in quantitative economics.
