ENVH 101 - Introduction to Environmental Humanities This course introduces students to Environmental Humanities, a growing interdisciplinary field that connects complex questions of climate crisis and environmental justice to diverse modes of cultural and artistic expression. Each section of the course is limited to 15 students and is guided by two or three faculty members representing different divisions. Introduction to Environmental Humanities is a 0.5 unit course (Credit/No Credit) and meets for two hours one evening per week to engage with scholarship and significant works of literature, art in different media, and place-based learning and events. Foregrounding the questions we share, and the reasons we must ask them to undertake the collective work of repair, this course invites students from any year or discipline to rethink their relationship to place and those who share it.
